    BEREA, Ky. - SMWC women's basketball was beaten by Berea College this afternoon 118-66. The Pomeroys fall to 3-9 (.235) on the season. Last year at this point in the season, The Woods sat with a record of 5-7.

  • Pomeroys Take Down MacMurray College; Sets School Record for 3-PT Baskets Made (26)

    Jacksonville, Ill. - SMWC women's basketball battled Greenville College and MacMurray College in the Sleep Inn Classic this weekend. The Pomeroys fell to Greenville 91-68 on Friday night but snapped their five-game losing streak today against MacMurray. The Woods beat the Highlanders 111-98. Regan Hubbard and Maggie Reiner were named Sleep Inn All-Tournament team for their weekend performance. As a team, SMWC set the school record for three-point baskets made in a contest with a whopping 26. The previous record was 24 against Oakland City University.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. -  Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Department of Athletics has unveiled its 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame class which features three honorees that will get inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, 2019. Inductees in the Class of 2019 include Ginger Griffin ’00 (Women’s Basketball), Sara Goelz ‘12 (Softball), and Stephanie Runyon ‘13 (Women’s Cross Country).

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - SMWC women's basketball lost to Earlham College last night 102-64. The contest marks the Pomeroys second largest loss of the season and the third time SMWC has given up 100+ points.. Nevertheless, senior Callan Taylor made history as she surpassed 1,000 Career Points! Taylor became the 13th player in history to enter the 1,000 Point Club.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology battled in the historic Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic tonight. SMWC lost 91-55 while RHIT inched closer to tying the all-time series. Currently, the Pomeroys hold a 14-13 historic record against the Fightin' Engineers. Brian Dorsett and his wife Gina were in attendance for tonight's game representing Dorsett Automotive, the Crosstown Classic official sponsor.

    MONACA, Pa. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team dropped tonight's game one contest of the Penn State Beaver Tournament. Penn State Beaver won the game 90-68. The Pomeroys could not find their niche offensively while PSB put together an overall solid game.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Head coach Mike Andrew and the SMWC softball program announced the dates for the 2019 SMWC Softball Holiday Camp this afternoon! The camp will be held on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 and Sunday, February 17th, 2019. The clinic accommodates to the following grades: 1-5, 6-8, and 9-12.  The softball camps will be hosted in the Aux Gym of the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center on the campus of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
  • SMWC Volleyball Loses USCAA National Championship to Florida National Univeristy

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College volleyball team ended their season at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex this afternoon. The Pomeroys battled it out with Florida National University in a back and forth dogfight for the 2018 USCAA National Championship trophy. The Woods lost to FNU in four sets: 17-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-22. Despite the loss, McKenzi Kumpf, Gabriella Slagle, and Monica Mack were named to the USCAA All-Tournament Team.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's cross country team competed in the USCAA National Championships today. The men's team earned a third place spot in the 8K race while the women's team finished second place in the 6K race. SMWC had four USCAA First Team All-Americans who finished Top 7 in the races.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - With the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College volleyball victory today, the team will be returning to the USCAA National Championship game for the fourth season in-a-row. The Pomeroys swept #4 seed Silver Lake College this afternoon (25-12, 25-14, 25-14) which means they concluded Pool Play undefeated. SMWC will face Florida National University at 12:30 p.m. for the National Title.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's cross country head coach Zach Whitkanack was selected as the 2018 USCAA Men's XC Coach of the Year last night. The announcement came at the USCAA Nationals Awards Banquet. This is the first time in school history that a men's cross country has walked away with this honor.

The Pomeroys notched USCAA First and Second Team All-American spots, USCAA National All-Academic honors, and the Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Year award as a team. Five separate player's: McKenzi Kumpf, Gabriella Slagle, Monica Mack, Pamela Dorman, and Kelcie Basan walked away with very well deserved awards.
  • Volleyball Goes Undefeated on Day One of the USCAA National Championships

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College volleyball team battled it out in the USCAA Division 1 Volleyball National Championship Pool Play today. The Pomeroys earned two wins on day one against #1 seed the University of Maine-Fort Kent and #2 seed Florida National University. SMWC's first game against Florida National was a thrilling five-set match victory as The Woods took sets one, three, and the final fifth to come out on top. In game two, against Maine Fort Kent, the Pomeroys found themselves down one set but battled back to win three-sets in-a-row to tally its 17th win of the season.
