Men's and Women's XC Sweeps the Run With the Lions Invitational; Coryea Steals First Place

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - For the first time in school history, the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's cross country teams both finished first place at the same invitational. The first place finish by the men's cross country team marks its first-ever program victory. Four men's cross country runner's finished in the top ten; Brennan Guido (3rd), Jordan Love (5th), Parker Nuest (7th), and Brady Page (10th). On the women's side, six SMWC runners finished in the top ten as they came in first place; Kayla Coryea (1st), Kendyll Schulz (3rd), Claire Loebker (4th), Madelyn Brown (5th), Teresa Dudley (9th), and Brooke Stateler (10th).

As a team The Woods scored 22 points.

Coach Whitkanack said, "Overall, I'm very satisfied with how both teams ran today. We have been nursing a few injuries the last few weeks and both teams put together a good effort. Our top runners performed very well and it was a great team effort as a whole."
