SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Men's golf senior Colton Kuppler has been named Student-Athlete of the Month (October) Presented by Refreshment Services Pepsi. Kuppler's accomplishments in the classroom and on the golf course will go down in SMWC men's golf history.
Every month, the Student-Athlete of the Month award is given to student-athletes who have a 3.0 or higher GPA, display a high degree of competition, hold the utmost level of sportsmanship, and represent the Woods in a respectful fashion.
According to head coach Abe Nasser, Kuppler exceeds all those expectations while he believes his future will be just as successful, "Colton is the epitome of a student-athlete. He excels in the classroom as much as he does on the golf course. He will continue to do great things after his time with SMWC has passed."
Nasser also believes his athletic performance is the most consistent he has ever seen, "Kuppler fought hard down the stretch this year to win his second National Championship as an individual. His play has been exceptional during his time at SMWC."
Kuppler, a senior from Fairbanks, Indiana, was named 2019 USCAA Individual National Champion with a score of 69 (-3) at the 2019 USCAA Men's Golf National Championships. He blazed through the competition to earn the second Individual Championship of his career. Not only did Kuppler lead his team to a 2019 USCAA National Championship, but he was also named USCAA Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Year, USCAA National All-Academic and First Team USCAA All-American.
