SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Pomeroy softball team was back on the diamond for the first time in almost three weeks. SMWC swept NAIA Indiana University-Southeast 8-3 and 5-1.
Game #15 | vs. Indiana University-Southeast
SMWC Softball took home an 8-3 victory over IU - Southeast in Game One this afternoon. The Woods got on the board in the first inning when Cory Taylor drew a walk which scored one run. The Pomeroys tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was led by a single from Hailey Miller and a home run by Camryn Scott. Katelynn Kennedy earned the victory on the mound. She allowed three hits, three runs and struck out three batters. Emily Weiss took the loss for IU - Southeast. SMWC's Camryn Scott had a career-game as she hit two home runs. Overall, SMWC finished with 12 hits. Kelsey Young, Hollie Jones, Jilliann Reese, and Scott each had multiple hits. Young went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team.
Game #16 | vs. Indiana University-Southeast
The Pomeroys beat IU-Southeast 5-1 in Game Two. SMWC got things started in the first inning when Ariel Spivey singled on a 0-2 count to score one run. The Woods scored four runs in the third inning after a grand slam by Hailey Miller. Taylor Andrew earned the win and finished with five strikeouts. Brooke Coffing threw one inning out of relief. Becca Schoenung took the loss for the Grenadiers. Overall, the defense played great as SMWC did not commit a single error.

The Pomeroys will be back on the diamond on Thursday, April 11th against Spalding University.
