ANDERSON, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team continued its upward momentum this past weekend at the Anderson Invitational at Killbuck Golf Course, as they again played well and had one top five finisher in the field of 19.
The Pomeroys finished second in the three-way outing that also featured golfers from Earlham and Mt. Saint Joseph. SMWC shot a 36-hole score of 725 (365-360) to finish behind Manchester and ahead of Anderson.
Freshman Elizabeth Yeazel led the way for SMWC with a card of 170 (85-85) to finish tied for third, while sophomore Chloe Buerster finished seventh with a 183 (93-90). Also finishing in the top 10 were sophomores Karlie Atkinson-Fritz (eighth) with a 184 (94-90) and Katrina Dayhuff (ninth) with a 188 (93-95).
The Pomeroys will be back in action on September 10-11 when they play in the two-day Hanover Invitational. Day one will take place at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison, Ind., while day two will tee off at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Ind.
