Women's Soccer Edged by the Oaks
SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team played closely with NCAA Division II Oakland City University yesterday afternoon. The Pomeroys and Oaks were both scoreless for the first 86 minutes of the game until OCU scored the go-ahead goal. SMWC could not score in the final minutes and lost 1-0. The Woods will travel to Fontbonne College on Sunday, September 23rd.

How It Happened:
  • The Pomeroys defense was stout 86 minutes of the contest but allowed a game-winning goal by OCU's Marlee Davis.
  • Corre Matherly finished the contest with four saves
  • SMWC allowed just five shots on goal the entire match; the offense took six shots on the Oaks
  • The Woods is 1-7-1 on the season with five games remainin

SMWC will host their senior day on Wednesday, September 26th against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The first touch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. EST.
