SMWC Hires Sean McMorrow as Head Women's Volleyball Coach

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – Sean McMorrow has been hired as the head women's volleyball coach at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), athletic director Deanna Bradley announced today.

McMorrow will begin immediately as the leader of the 4x United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Runners-Up (USCAA) Pomeroys volleyball program. With 28 years of coaching experience, he brings a collaborative, passionate and motivating approach in his coaching style.

Deanna Bradley said, "We are pleased to have Sean as our new volleyball coach. Sean brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and resources to assist in taking our currently successful program to the next level."

McMorrow joins the athletic department with more than three decades of experience, most recently in Dayton, Ohio, at Butler High School. He has held coaching gigs at Boston College, Urbana University, and Wittenberg University. While at Wittenberg, he was on the staff tasked with starting a men's volleyball program. His coaching experience has taken place over multiple levels including high school, club, NCAA Division I, II and III, as well as two stints at junior colleges.

Currently, he owns and directs multiple club programs in various states. He hopes to bring this network into play by increasing the recruiting footprint to help grow the program and he is excited to lead the Pomeroys into the future. McMorrow will replace Stephen Beeler with hopes of bringing The Woods its first-ever National Championship.

"I am excited to be joining the Pomeroy family, in welcoming the new recruits, as we look to continue the previous success and continue to grow the program." says McMorrow, "There are obvious challenges but we will collectively embrace, attack and overcome those challenges. I would like to thank the search committee for having the faith to bring me in to lead the program."

McMorrow earned his B.S. in Sports Administration with a focus in Organizational Leadership and his A.S. In Sport Management with Recreation and Physical Fitness. Additionally, he plans to pursue his Master of Leadership Development at SMWC.

Sean is happily married to his wife, Sarah, and they have three boys (dogs), Dumper, Lennon, and Brady.
