GARY, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (SMWC) volleyball team (9-15) fell to Indiana University-Northwest (12-6) this evening, falling 3-1 (13-25, 13-25, 26-24, 17-25). The Woods fought hard throughout, but costly errors held them back. SMWC hopes to finish their season strong when they compete in the Lincoln College Quad Tournament starting next Friday, the 25th.
By the Numbers
- SMWC was led by Riley Kinney and Mandi Alspach who both recorded 8 kills, followed by Jaelyn Fennell with 7
- Sophomore Kara Schafer added 5 kills on 7 attacks with 0 errors for a 0.714 kill%
- Megan White's 6 kills and 1 block assist helped round out the top players for the Pomeroys on the evening.
What's Next?
The Pomeroys will take part in the Lincoln College Quad Tournament in Lincoln, Illinois next Friday and Saturday, October 25-26th where they'll face College of the Ozarks (10/25; 9:00p), Lincoln College (10/26 1:00p), and Lincoln Christian University (10/26; 3:00p). All times are Eastern.
