LINCOLN, Ill. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (SMWC) volleyball team (9-18) competed in the Lincoln College Quad Tournament this past weekend. The Pomeroys faced strong competition and kept their matches close, but couldn't pull out a win as they drop all three matches.
By the Numbers
Vs. College of the Ozarks
- SMWC was once again led in kills by Mandi Alspach (12), Riley Kinney (12), Jaelyn Fennell (10), and Meagan White (10).
- Riley Kinney led the team with a 0.269 kill %, followed by Meagan White with a 0.152 kill %.
- Katelyn Cotter posted 44 assists and added 14 digs.
Vs. Lincoln College
- Jaelyn Fennell recorded a .350 kill% with 9 kills on 20 attacks.
- Pamela Dorman posted 32 digs, followed by Jaelyn Fennell with 14.
- Katelyn Cotter's 31 assists once again paced the Pomeroys, putting her 189 assists away from the school record.
Vs. Lincoln Christian University
- SMWC fought hard, taking the first set and dropping the next two by 2 and 3 points.
- Riley Kinney and Jaelyn Fennell had 10 and 12 kills, respectively.
- The Pomeroys spread out their digs with each started recording at least 3 digs and at most 9.
What's Next?
The Pomeroys host Indiana University-East this Wednesday, October 30th. The match is slated to start as 7:00 p.m. ET and serve as both Senior Night for senior Meagan White and costume night. Fans attending the match in a costume will be eligible for a prize!
